Policies
Cancellation & Rescheduling
We understand that life is unpredictable. If you need to cancel or reschedule, we kindly ask for 24 hours' notice. This allows us the opportunity to offer that time to another client who may be waiting for care.
Cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice will be subject to a fee of 100% of the scheduled service price
Cancellation Fee Exceptions illness, injury, emergencies. Please provide notice at your earliest convenience.
"No-shows" (missing an appointment without notice) will be charged the full service amount.
Arrival & Punctuality
To ensure you receive the full benefit of your session, please aim to arrive 10 minutes prior to your scheduled start time. This gives you a moment to catch your breath and transition into a relaxing headspace.
If you are running late, please send a quick text (919)-623-8135 to let us know.
To respect the client scheduled after you, late arrivals will still end at the original appointment time, and the full service fee will apply.
Health & Wellness
The goal of our work is healing. If you are feeling under the weather—including fever, chills, or a contagious cough—please reach out to reschedule as soon as possible. Receiving bodywork while your immune system is compromised can often make you feel worse, and we want to ensure the space remains a healthy environment for everyone.
Professionalism & Boundaries
Massage therapy is a strictly therapeutic and professional wellness service. Any illicit or suggestive remarks or behavior will result in the immediate termination of the session at the full service price, and future appointments will be declined.
First Session
It’s natural to have questions when visiting a new massage therapist for the first time. At In Harmony BodyWork, our goal is to make your experience as seamless and restorative as the massage itself. Here is a roadmap of our first session together:
1. A Warm Welcome
When you arrive we’ll start with a brief, relaxed conversation about your intake form. This is where we discuss your physical goals, any areas of discomfort, and—most importantly—how you want to feel when you walk out the door.
2. Creating Your Session
Because we specialize in client-specific care, we don't follow a memorized routine. Based on our intake conversation, we will explain the techniques recommended to achieve the goals for your session.
3. Your Comfort is Priority
Once we’ve settled on a plan, the massage therapist will step out of the room to give you complete privacy to disrobe to your level of comfort and settle onto the heated table. Throughout the massage, the pressure, lighting, and temperature are all adjustable. This is your time, and your feedback is always encouraged.
4. Integration and Aftercare
After the session, the massage therapist will leave the room so you can slowly re-orient and dress. We’ll conclude with a quick debrief to see how your body feels. The massage therapist may offer a few simple "home-care" suggestions—like a specific stretch or hydration tips—to help you maintain that feeling of harmony long after you leave the massage table.
